About
The Capped Bust Half Dollar was issued from 1807 to 1839. During this time, there would be two primary design types. The first was designed by John Reich, and the second, which represented a modified version of the original design, was by Christian Gobrecht.
The series was issued amongst many historical developments for U.S. coinage, including the switch to steam powered presses and the striking of the first branch mint half dollars.
